I reblogged that post about logging off as protest but I deleted it after thinking about it- I don’t think that’s the way to do this- we need to FIGHT! Ask for a review of every post that is flagged, hopefully this may show them how many posts are wrongly tagged and they will do something about it! Yes, this sucks but this community is important for a lot of us and I for one will leave when they snap the blog from my cold, dead fingers!
This, I would imagine, is the initial bot algorithm stage…and clearly it sucks just like all the rest of the code ‘round these parts. So far, I can find no way to easily find flagged posts, so check your post queues often and if your originals are flagged, ask for a review. If a reblog is flagged, let the OP know so they can ask for a review. Will it help train the bot? Maybe. Will it clearly illustrate how shitty it is and create a fuckton of work behind the scenes? Yes. Yes it will.
What they’re trying to do is not possible with what method they’ve chosen. The simplest solution is to change the TOS to 18+.ONLY and bring back safe mode. They seem to have ignored the fact that, porn bots aside, ever user curates their own dashboard and content. If you want the porns, ya has to go FIND THE PORNS, savvy?
Edited with Lightroom and/or Photoshop CC. Photo(s) are not mine; it/they are the property of the photographer/magazine etc. This is a non-commercial fan work only.
Only Lovers Left Alive is not porn. It’s a love story with vampires.
High-Rise is not porn. It’s a dystopian, social commentary.
I can’t help but wonder what the film makers, the creative directors, the actors, the actresses, and the writers of these and other pieces of work feel about Tumblr’s new censorship… 🤔
Exactly. You know, I’m not protesting agaist banning the actual porn blogs. It’s their site, their rules, right? What I am and will be protesting against is that the way tumblr tries to deal with porn is not good, and it will end up getting rid of everything else that gets in the way – actual art, movie gifs, non-pornographic fan art etc. And all that stuff is exactly what we are all using this site for. Wanna ban porn? Fine, but don’t use automatic systems that can’t distinguish what is and what isn’t porn!
And what I also don’t get… the Tumblr App itself isn’t for people under 18. You choose whom to follow, you can unfollow and block blogs with content you don’t like. Everybody on this website decides what they want to watch, nobody is forced to see anything they don’t want to.
Maybe get a grip on porn blogs, Nazis and make sure there’s nobody under 18 on here instead of banning posts that are meant to be entertaining and art.
And if those under 18 lie and say they’re of age…that’s on THEM. This is middle school lunchtime group punishment at its best. Little Billy fucked up, YOU MUST ALL SUFFER.
Tumblr’s axing all adult-content December 17th and to say this news has shaken me would be an understatement. I’m not entirely certain where to go from here but I will rename & back up this blog and, more than likely, launch a new blog from scratch. However, I will be deleting my adult side-blogs, such as xmistressxcobrasxfantasiesx and the art-of-hiddles-afterdark. But I think the vanilla version of art-of-hiddles should be fine, as well as my art blog, chao-cub.
In the meantime, since I’ll be MIA, going in-&-out during this digital moving process, here’s where you can follow me and/or stay in touch with me. Please please keep in touch with me, ladies & gents. I hate to lose touch with any of ya’ll 💔 Note: If your username is different from your Tumblr handle, message me & let me know to add you!!
