“Fan fiction is what literature might look like if it were reinvented from scratch after a nuclear apocalypse by a band of brilliant pop-culture junkies trapped in a sealed bunker. They don’t do it for money. That’s not what it’s about. The writers write it and put it up online just for the satisfaction. They’re fans, but they’re not silent, couchbound consumers of media. The culture talks to them, and they talk back to the culture in its own language.”

The Boy Who Lived Forever | Time Magazine

This is probably the best, non-judgmental description of fan fiction I’ve ever heard of in main stream media. (via concerninghumans)

@transformativeworks / AO3 is our sealed bunker.

That’s why it’s so important to protect it. They provide the guards who keep the zombies and looters at bay. They maintain the air and water filters. They organize the hydroponics lab and medical bay. They give us the space to not just survive surrounded by ads and tyrannical laws but to thrive.

Whose bunker would you rather live out the apocalypse in? AO3′s, ff net’s, Livejournal’s, or the malware-filled dark web’s?

I knooowwwwuuuuu.

I mean he’s always handsome. And we all have our preference for specifics about his Look. Some people like Loki Tom, some people like Clean Shaven Blonde Tom, and so on.

But right now, for me, he is Grade A Smoke Your Brisket In Two Seconds With A Single Glance kind of handsome.

He’s marinating in it.

And it isn’t just the physical fact of the curls and whiskers, he is older and wiser and delicious.

I’ll stop before I really get carried away.
